How to become a Referee

🎉🥳 Ready to have some fun, learn new skills, and earn money at the same time? Become a soccer referee! Here's the quick scoop:

Start Your Adventure: If you're 13 or older, sign up for a fun and interactive course at the U.S. Soccer Learning Center. You'll learn all about the game, referee techniques, and safety training. Plus, you'll have a blast taking a quiz on the Laws of the Game!

Get in the Game: Register on the Connecticut State Referee Program site, then sign up at the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.  Choose a "Grassroots – First-Time Referees" course, complete pre-game training, and enjoy an on-field session. Celebrate your achievement with a shiny new referee badge!

Stay Sharp & Earn💰: Complete your course before June 25th and start refereeing (and earning) right away! If you finish after July 1, you're set for the next season. Just remember to renew your license annually.

Get ready to lace up your boots, grab your whistle, and step onto the pitch. Make friends, make decisions, make money - all while having a blast!

Not 13 Yet? No Problem! 🙌

Too young for the official referee program? Don't worry, Bethel Youth Soccer has got you covered. The 'white badge' program lets you start learning how to ref. The best part? You can still earn money, and it's all within our local program. This opportunity is open to anyone aged 12 and up. It's a great way to dip your toes into the thrilling world of refereeing while you prepare for the big leagues! So why wait?

All aspiring referees must complete this form.  Once completed and reviewed, the Manager of Referees will contact you.
